Our Weekend

My hubby has been hard at work this long weekend. His dad has also put in long hours helping. We are so grateful for him! They have been tiling our bathroom and mudroom hallway. I can't wait to see it done!

Grandma Craiger on her 89th Thanksgiving!

On Thanksgiving Day we started with lunch at our house. I went and picked up my Grandma who is living here in an assisted living home. We enjoyed lunch and watching the parade. We set the camera on a timer and snatched up this picture. Every is looking except for Rudy!

Then we headed to Scott's brother for a delicious dinner. We had a wonderful time with everyone. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera. You'll have to take my word for it!

~We have so much to be thankful for! Our salvation, family, church family, home and all the 'extras' that God blesses us with because He loves us so much!~

More Progress

Its funny how people sometimes think that I am creative in my decorating. I consider myself really a copy cat! I often look through my magazines and tear out what I'd like to copy. This is what my little side table in my kitchen looks like. I have our tile, carpet samples, paint chips, bathroom vanity etc., all layed out to see how it will all come together. I'm going very neutral this time around. We'll see, I might regret it.

Above is taken from the kitchen. We widened the door way a little into the family room.

After taking down dark paneling and having it drywalled, we painted the family room walls and ceiling. We also took out the gas stove and brick floor it was on. We kept the brick wall and plan to put our tv on the black table. We are also carpeting this room to give it some warmth. With hardwood floors in the rest of the house, the boys miss a place to wrestle!

The picture above is a shot of the door way between our family room and our future master bedroom. If you go to the left, that is a long hallway that will be our mudroom for coats and shoes etc. (picture below) If you remember at all, this doorway pictured above was our previous doorway to the garage. It had a storm door and 2 steps down to the cement floor.

Its amazing the transformation.

This is the corner of our master bath. I am so excited to see this finished. We had a friend from church make a vanity that I had asked him to copy from pottery barn. I can't believe how it turned out. Its exactly what I was hoping for.

This week Scott and some help are doing the tile floor in the bathroom and mudroom. Next will be carpet, trim and doors. The end is in sight! I'm so proud of my husband for all of his hard work and dedication to getting this project done. It's hard to believe we started just 3 short months ago.

Random days

Last weekend we rented the New Toy Story 3 movie. We loved it! I thought it was better than than the second actually. Of course that meant Woody and Buzz made it out of the toy bins (Reis and Hudson received them for Christmas 11 years ago!). The 3 youngest boys reenacted several parts of the movie. Scott and I laughed as this is what we found in the bathroom one day.

What a cool picture below of a beautiful rainbow. It gave a perfect opportunity to talk again about God's promises to us.

Our first snow fall and an early one at that! First week in November and this is what we woke up to. I have to admit it was pretty. It warmed up that day so it didn't stick around long.

Halloween

We had a fun weekend together as a family, carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating. Sunday ended with a fall party for our youth group. We had close to 40 kids plus leaders outside playing capture the flag, scarecrow relay and eating. No bonfire due to our county fire ban happening right now. That's been a bummer this year.

I think Davis' pumpkin is so cute. He drew the face and I cut it out.

We joined up with some friends and went trick-or-treating Saturday night and went back to the house for chili. It was a great night...not too cold. You just never know in Indiana what you'll get on the last day in October!

Hudson was an army dude, Chapman a Hobo, Owen was captain Rex and

Davis was my little cowboy.

Now...on to my favorite time of year.

Hoping our addition will be done before its time to put up the Christmas tree!
