Finishing strong

We are trying our best to finish strong with homeschooling. Last week we went to the library for some books on rocks and fossils. Of course boys are all into that!

Here Owen thought he would gather an audience to read to. Rudy sat there for at least 20 minutes. Davis...not so long! Owen is really doing well at reading. It is so fun watching him develop that skill for life! Wouldn't trade it for anything!

Early spring

Northern Indiana has been blessed with a beautiful spring with warmer temps than normal for this time of year. Things are growing like crazy and I'm loving it!

Here is Clematis that I planted 2 years ago that has never sprouted before! I thought I was imagining that I ever even planted the bulb. Here it is and I'm excited for it
to grow up my brick post.

I visited my favorite little amish green house and got two hanging baskets and gorgeous deep red geraniums. I can't wait to see them in full bloom. I am trying to find the balance of not buying too much b/c we are hoping to sell the house soon but yet buying enough for curb appeal:)

An Udderly good time

This week we went with our home school group to a dairy farm here in Indiana. It was amazing. It is home to about 30,000 cows that each get milked at least 3 times a day. Its a 24/7 365 days a year operation.
We got too see two live births. Boy were the questions flying! Davis said he's glad he's a boy and never has to do that...

Above is a young calf.

Here is the milking parlor. There are 10 of these on the farm. Each cow is on the carousel for 7 minutes, 3 times a day to be milked. They filed in and out like professionals! The cows that is...

Davis tried his hand at milking...

At the end of the day, the kids got to jump on this huge jumping pillow. The moms laughed that we drove 2 hours for them to like this the best.

What a fun day!

Letters to God

New friends invited me to a girls' night. We met and went to a movie and out to dinner. It's been a while since I've done that and we had a great time. I was just along for the ride and didn't really know what movie I was going to. They picked 'Letters to God'. I hadn't even heard about it. It ended up being a great, very touching, inspirational movie with a clear gospel message. It was based on a true story. If you want to read more about it and see some clips go here.

I love when you can go to a film and walk out encouraged that God is moving somewhere. (that doesn't happen very often but seems like it's on the rise!) Although it was a tear jerker, it did just that. I encourage you to go! I plan to take the boys...
when it's at the dollar theater of course:)

Blessings

After a great weekend I can't help but think of the many blessings we encountered.
First...New friends in Plymouth that were so generous in allowing us to stay in their home for the weekend. Also for the Beautiful weather we've had these last few weeks. The boys were able to fly a kite... wearing shorts and t-shirts...in April!

The boys had a blast and got to try so many New Things like riding a go-cart and shooting skeet.

We Decorated eggs and most importantly celebrated
Christ's Resurrection with our new church family.

We had an Easter Egg hunt on a farm:)
We also celebrated Hudson's 12th birthday that was on Easter Sunday. He's such a wonderful part of our family and we are blessed to be given the opportunity to raise him.

I don't have a picture for the last blessing I thought of.
We were blessed to be reminded once again that God is in complete control of our life and it is a
daily commitment to choose to trust Him.
I hope you were able to 'count your blessings' this last weekend and were reminded of what an incredible sacrifice Christ gave for us.
I am so grateful.
