Wedding Bells

I had the priviledge of being a part of a wedding of whom Scott and I have watched the bride and groom grow up over the years. I used to babysit Liz when she was very young...many years ago:) She has grown to be a beautiful young woman...inside and out. She asked me if I would be her personal attendant for the day in which I was thrilled to be a part of her day. It took place at a historic mansion here in Elkhart. It was gorgeous. We prayed for a nice day and it was beautiful. I also had fun with a friends' camera for the day. Of course I didn't know what I was doing but I had fun trying. Hopefully some day...I'll get one of my own.The wedding had a vintage-garden theme...of course I loved!

The wedding actually made the front page of our newspaper! You can read about it here. There was a MSNBC reporter there that is doing an ongoing story of 'Elkhart' during these hard economic times.

Summer=Golf

I think I'm living with a bunch of future pro-golfers!

Our garage looks like a golf bag warehouse.

There are random (plastic) balls flying any direction all over the yard...at any given time.

Reis and Hudson are playing on the South Bend Jr. Golf league this summer, so of course what ever they are into, the younger ones follow. Their first tournament was Monday and they play on a full course. For those of you who know anything about golf...Reis shot a 56 (on nine holes) and Hudson shot a 62 and actually won in his group. They are doing well and it's fun to watch. We are looking forward to see how much they improve.

More than Corn in Indiana

If you are from here, you know the little jingle that I titled this post:) We were at a camp this week down in Hillboro Indiana. A town in the middle of no where but has so much to offer!
Here is the 'upper' lake where we swam and watched the kids get 'blobbed'!

What's great for us as a family is that Scott is asked to be the camp speaker and we all get to join him. This year we had the 2 youngest that were not 'campers'. We had a great time doing many adventureous things. Included in those was a creek walk. It was amazing how beautiful it is and I kept thinking...we are in Indiana! Many travel far to do something fun like this.

We even climbed over a few water falls. Here Owen is laying in one with the water rushing over his head.

Overall we had a great week. Hopefully you were able to check out our camp blog to see what all we were up to. It's so good to be home. I loved coming home and checking on all my flowers and vegetables growing. Some doubled in size! Now its...laundry for a few days:)

A week at camp

Camping Out...In the backyard!

Last week Scott took some vacation days and we stayed home and did some projects around the house. It was so nice taking it easy and being together. One night he surprised the boys and announced it was a camp out night in the backyard. They had a ball. Mom on the other hand took the opportunity to sleep in her warm bed in a quiet house:)

When you're back in our woods, you do feel like your at some camp ground...

But then you look behind you and there are the all the amenities of home:)

I came out in the morning to sit by the fire and brought warm cinnamon rolls, coffee and juice.
The next night the boys slept there again without Scott and so of course that meant Davis was home bound. We decided to pull the little tent into his room and he slept in there for the night. He was happy. Here he is talking to himself and using his flashlight.
