In a week

Here's some things that have happened in our week.

Reis and Hudson are learning how to type! I remember learning my freshman year of HS but there is a Internet site that teaches kids and it's pretty impressive. They already know half the alphabet...and they love doing it. I found it over a year ago but have recently required it as part of their school schedule. You'll have to try it!
Owen is in the business of loosing teeth! It is a business when Aunt Pam promised $5 for the last one! We are all gonna go broke! But if you know Owen, he has either given his money away or bought items to give away. He is a giver and we know God will use him with that gift!

I tried to take a pic through our back door. We got some more snow this week and the boys went out to play. Even the BIG one:) I watched from inside of course!

He's Home!

Reis got home last night. His brothers were so excited to see him, or the presents he brought home for them:) I'm trying not to be jealous of his tan! He had a wonderful trip and I look forward to hearing more about it. He's pretty tired...it is noon and he's still sleeping!

He brought home goodies for all. Coffee for mom and dad and weapons for the 3 boys and a little wooden turtle for Davis. What they all requested. We are not sure how these got through customs...don't worry, they aren't sharp!

My tree project

I have been eyeing these little trees on the front of this magazine since I received this issue last year. I actually found some at a local antique store for $30 each. I would not pay that much so I thought I would try to make them myself. Here is the story...

I started with an old pot, I already had.

The boys found me a good stick from our backyard.

I did have to purchase the greenery, floral tape and Styrofoam.

Ta-Dah! I am very happy with my little tree that cost me a total of $4.50!

I even had enough to make 2:)

A Treat!

This week we have been indulging in some homemade treats. Every year we like to make valentines cookies to decorate and pass out to neighbors and friends.

We also have been making yummy hot chocolate for our morning snack. This has been our recent creation...whipped cream, marshmallows and a peppermint stick.

Update on Reis

The leader of Reis' missions trip has emailed everyday with an update which has been wonderful. He has called me a couple of times (I'm sure as a result of Nanny) and they are having a great time. They have played 2 games so far and have visited a couple of churches in sugar cane villages, gone to 3 orphanages- including one with all severly handicapped children. I am so thankful for Reis to experience this at his age. May God use him in a mighty way. Thank you for your prayers!

Happy Birthday Briggs

My brother Brandon and wife Ashlee's little guy Briggs had a birthday on Saturday. He turned 2. We had a great time celebrating. We did glow in the dark mini golf and bowling...although I forgot to take pics of us bowling:( He is such a sweetie! Can't believe he is 2 already!

All the boys got "presents" as Davis calls it. He has cherished his bag ever since:)

Pray for Reis

My baby leaves tomorrow morning for the Dominican Republic with a group to play soccer and share the gospel with many. Please pray for this group of 22. They are a mix of high school, homeschoolers and several adults. They are ready with a lot of ministry to do and will play several soccer games to attract a crowd then will give their testimonies and share Christ with the people who come. I so wish I could be a fly...in the air:) to watch him. He is only 12 but has always seemed well beyond his years. I am so proud of him and will miss him so much.

I will try to update sometime during his time there. He comes home in 12 days. (for those of you who don't know, my parents live in the D.R. and he'll be well taken care of by them as well...12 is kinda young for a short term missions trip...at least parent-less:)

Field Trip

Last week we went on a field trip with our churchs' homeschool group. We had a great turn out. We had over 60 people in all come out. We spent the day at the South Bend Chocolate Factory and after lunch...the Studebaker Museum. It was a lot of fun. Here's the crew....

Studebaker Co. was a car manufacturing co. in the early to mid 1900's. They originated in South Bend and now have a museum with over 150 cars on display.

We each got to make our own dipped spoon. mmmm...




AND...we got to wear these very attractive hair nets.
