Happy 8th Birthday Chapman!

Yesterday we celebrated Chapman's 8th birthday. It started by daddy taking him out for breakfast to Perkins. Then he was surprised when he got home by finding he was "off" school for the day (a homeschool perk). For dinner we met family at CC's pizza and dessert. It was a fun day. I tried to gather some pictures of his life since 2 years old (when we purchased our digital camera:). We love having Chapman in our family. He is the life of the party many times. We miss him when he's not around! Hope you enjoy!

More Updates

Here is an update on Baby Owen. This came from a friend that talked to Beccah this afternoon.

Beccah told us that as of 12:15 they had taken Owen off of all medication and off of the ventilator. (They weren’t expecting to be able to take him off the vent. until Sunday or Monday at the earliest!) They are now waiting to see if he wakes up. He’s been opening his eyes off and on and moving around, but then goes back to sleep. This is a positive step and a nurse actually told them today that he was doing well. Still a big question as to what is going to happen now, so keep praying.

The Doctor's and Nurses have no explanation as to "why" Owen is alive today. We know why! God has worked and so far....chosen to keep him alive. Please continue to pray!

Update on Owen

Owen is still on a ventilator. He has had some positive responses to some tests done. The Dr.'s are giving him 2-3 days more until they start to take him off of things to see how he does. Keep praying for Owen and also for the family. Of course for the parents but also for Mike and Beccah and their kids as it happened at their house.

A Call out to PRAY

I have an urgent prayer request! My good friend Beccah, has a nephew Owen that today fell into a small pool of water (used for outdoor landscaping). He was eventually found and rushed to the Elkhart ER. They were able to resuscitate him and rush him to South Bend Memorial. Scott just called me from there and said we really need to pray. The Doctor told them "It would take a miracle for him to make it". Well, we know the ONLY one who can preform miracles....Don't we! Please pray for little Owen (1 yr) and his parents Micah and Jen. I will keep you informed.

The Wilderness story

Yes, I survived! It was a tough week for me. Our first 4 days were pretty wet, cold and windy. God blessed us with 48 hours of sun and warmth ( low 70's) which was wonderful. Those were great b/c those were our solo days and a day we had planned to hang out at the same campsite for a night. We literally baked on a rock enjoying the sunshine. Even came home with some color:) God was so good to us. He kept us safe, gave us strength and endurance and kept the rain back at least while we were setting up camp, building a fire and packing up each morning. One morning, it was cloudy while we were packing up and I am not kidding when I say as soon as we started to put our back packs into the canoe, it started pouring/dumping rain. That was a true blessing. Food was great and I slept pretty good considering. We deepened and built lasting friendships for sure. Scott and I enjoyed our time away together. We were able to talk about our marriage and boys and do some goal setting and planning for the future. We came back excited and refreshed and I am grateful for that. Thank you to all who prayed. I could feel your prayers working:) Enjoy the pictures below. If you click to "view all", you can read the captions I wrote:)

Carrying extra weight

Scott and I leave for a Wilderness trip up in Canada on Friday. It has been a ministry of our church for years. Every year we take either a men's group or a couple's group. This year it is a couple's trip going for a week. We have been "training" by taking long walks with backpacks. I usually carry Davis and Scott carries a 40 lb. bag of salt:) Scott thought this day he would carry Davis while he mowed the lawn.
I knew this was going to happen
Thought you might enjoy seeing that everything is growing so well:)

Elkhart Club Football

Here are the football pictures I finally got. They are doing really well. They are 2-0 and have another game this week.
